In
the mid-1980s, the streets of Compton, California, were some of the
most dangerous in the country. When five young men translated their
experiences growing up into brutally honest music that rebelled against
abusive authority, they gave an explosive voice to a silenced
generation.
Taking us back to where it all began, Straight Outta Compton tells the
true story of how these cultural rebels-armed only with their lyrics,
swagger, bravado and raw talent-stood up to the authorities that meant
to keep them down and formed the world's most dangerous group, N.W.A.
And as they spoke the truth that no one had before and exposed life in
the hood, their voice ignited a social revolution that is still
reverberating today.
Following the meteoric rise and fall
of N.W.A., Straight Outta Compton is an astonishing story of how these
youngsters revolutionized music and pop culture forever the moment they
told the world the truth about life in the hood and ignited a cultural
war.
